As a Senior Accounting Associate, you’ll take ownership of accounting activities across our entities while leading key projects and processes within the investment accounting function. This role offers the opportunity to tackle new challenges every day, contribute to process improvement, and build long‑term, trusted partnerships across the organization. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and energized by solving complex accounting challenges in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Own accounting and reporting for a diverse portfolio of investments, including public equities, fixed income securities, private investments, and alternative assets
- Review and analyze investment reports, custodial statements, and portfolio activity to accurately record:
- Realized and unrealized gains and losses
- Interest, dividend, and other investment income
- Capital calls, distributions, and partnership allocations
- Reconcile investment activity, positions, and balances to custodial and investment manager reporting
- Prepare and maintain investment schedules and supporting analyses for financial and tax reporting purposes
- Research and resolve investment-related accounting discrepancies and valuation questions
- Oversee complex bookkeeping and accounting activities for investment and operating entities
- Oversee monthly close activities, including journal entries, account analyses, and general ledger maintenance
- Support cash management activities and liquidity tracking across entities
- Prepare schedules and analyses supporting financial statements, audits, and tax return preparation
- Review disbursements, reconciliations, general ledger activity, and financial reporting for accuracy and completeness

- Identify opportunities to streamline investment accounting and reporting processes through automation, standardization, and enhanced controls
- Collaborate with investment, tax, treasury, and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and efficient execution of processes
- Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned

- At least seven (7) years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience working with enterprise general ledger systems such as Intacct, NetSuite, Oracle, or comparable platforms
- Significant hands-on experience with investment accounting, portfolio reporting, and reconciliation of investment activity
- Experience accounting for a variety of asset classes, including public markets, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, and other alternative investments
- Strong understanding of investment income recognition, capital activity, realized/unrealized gains and losses, and valuation reporting
- Advanced degree (MBA) and/or professional certification (CPA or CA)
- Prior exposure to a large or multi‑family office(s), or similarly complex organization
- Experience collaborating with international teams across time zones and regions
