Maybell Quantum is growing quickly and expanding our operations group! If being part of an outstanding team at one of the most exciting companies in quantum computing sounds interesting, then Maybell may be the place for you.

Maybell Quantum Industries, Inc. is a venture-backed quantum computing startup focused on designing and building the hardware for quantum systems. Quantum computers are going to be as important to the next 30 years as the internet was to the last 30; our team is building the hardware to make them work. In addition to competitive salary and benefits, the position includes stock options in one of the most promising startups in the country.

Maybell Quantum is seeking an experienced operations leader to run our supply chain organization. Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Director of Supply Chain owns demand and materials planning, supply chain, and cost across our cryogenic hardware lines, working in close partnership with our manufacturing and quality teams. Our ideal candidate has built the planning, sourcing, and supplier programs that carry hardware from low-volume builds to repeatable production and is equally comfortable on the floor and in front of the executive team.

Responsibilities

  • Own supply planning — master schedules, availability forecasting, capacity, and on-time delivery commitments — in partnership with the manufacturing team.
  • Lead, coach, and grow the supply chain organization.
  • Partner with engineering to bring new products into production, driving supplier readiness, design-for-supply-chain, and clean hardware handoffs.
  • Define, baseline, and report the operational metrics this role owns — on-time delivery, nonconformance rates, inventory accuracy and turns, material cost variance, supplier on-time delivery, and lead-time performance — and set improvement targets against them.
  • Own supply chain's use of the ERP/MRP system — BOM and routing accuracy, master data, planning parameters, and inventory transactions — and drive the transaction discipline that makes the data trustworthy.
  • Run demand and materials planning, including forecast-to-build conversion, MRP-driven purchasing signals, safety stock policy, and inventory investment levels.
  • Partner with the quality team on supplier quality, nonconformance resolution, and documentation control so defects are caught upstream of the build.
  • Own the material budget and inventory investment plan, including tooling and long-lead equipment procurement.
  • Drive continuous improvement programs to reduce lead time, material cost, and inventory.
  • Own supply chain risk, including sole-source exposure, long-lead components, dual-sourcing strategy, and supplier qualification.
  • Lead procurement and supplier management — sourcing strategy, negotiations, contracts and terms, and supplier performance reviews.
  • Own inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing and stockroom operations, and import/export compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years in supply chain, planning, or procurement roles, including 5+ years leading and developing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience taking complex hardware from prototype through repeatable production.
  • Direct sourcing and negotiation experience with contract manufacturers and precision machined, cryogenic, or electromechanical component suppliers.
  • Hands-on ERP/MRP experience, including an implementation, migration, or major module rollout, plus BOM and routing structures, planning parameters, and inventory control.
  • Experience building planning and inventory processes from the ground up in a low-volume, high-mix hardware environment.
  • Strong command of quality and continuous improvement methods, such as root cause analysis, CAPA, and lean.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a track record of influencing across manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams, with suppliers, and presenting to executives and investors.

Base salary: $160,000 - $180,000
