Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.\r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies**\r\n\r\n

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason that this position exists is to perform a full range of clerical and technical accounting duties to support the financial operations and activities of county government.� The essential functions of this position include� invoice processing, data entry, reconciliations, journal entries, and maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with governmental accounting standards and procurement policies.� The Accounting Specialist performs a blend of routine transactional work with higher-level accounting tasks, ensuring accurate transaction processing, financial reporting, and compliance with county, state, and federal regulations.\r\n

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of two or more college-level accounting courses, and at least two (2) years experience in clerical accounting, technical accounting, or a combination of both.� Two years (2) of practical experience in an ERP platform or system.\r\n\r\n\r\nAssociate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and governmental accounting experience is preferred.\r\n\r\n\r\nNOTE:��Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
