POSITION DUTIES

The Maryland Police and\r\nCorrectional Training Commissions (MPCTC) is seeking a Senior Instructor to\r\njoin the Leadership Development Institute at the Public Safety Education and\r\nTraining Center in Sykesville, MD. This pivotal role is responsible for the\r\nstrategic oversight, design, and delivery of high-impact training programs that\r\nshape the future of Maryland’s public safety leaders. This position will ensure\r\nall curricula, including mandated First Line Administrator and First Line\r\nSupervisor programs, meet the standards of the Code of Maryland Regulations\r\n(COMAR) for police and correctional professionals. The position will be\r\nresponsible for leading the transition from classroom theory to operational\r\nleadership, facilitating both in-person and hybrid learning environments to\r\nempower the next generation of law enforcement and correctional professionals.\r\nKey Responsibilities:\r\n\r\n Curriculum Innovation and Teaching: Develop, revise, and implement lesson plans, training materials, practical scenarios, and assessments tailored to executive and supervisory leadership, and relevant training programs.� Facilitate and deliver both in-person and hybrid training and workshops to ensure learning objectives are met and participant engagement. �\r\n Strategic Oversight: Manage training schedules and collaborate with external trainers or vendors to ensure resource efficiency and instructional quality.� Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of training activities and participant progress.\r\n Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all programs and training initiatives meet COMAR standards and educational integrity.��\r\n Mentorship & Collaboration: Provide technical assistance and instructional support across MPCTC units to foster a cohesive, state-wide approach to public safety training.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Please read all requirements before applying.\r\n\r\n\r\nEducation:� A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.�\r\nExperience: Four years of experience in administrative or professional work.\r\n

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the selective qualification(s) to be considered.�Include clear and specific information on your application regarding�your qualifications.\r\n\r\n\r\n1. A minimum of two (2) years\r\nof experience as a First Line Supervisor or First Line Administrator�in\r\nthe law enforcement or correctional field.\r\n�\r\n2. A minimum of three (3) years\r\nof experience in the development, coordination, and delivery\r\nof�COMAR-mandated programs, specifically First Line Administrator, First\r\nLine Supervisor,�and Basic Instructor courses within a law enforcement,\r\ncorrectional, or criminal justice�environment.\r\n�\r\n\r\n\r\n3. Possession of a current\r\nMPCTC Instructor Certification, or the ability to obtain\r\ncertification�within six (6) months of hire.\r\n\r\n\r\n
