We are seeking passionate individuals for our Administrator III: OIG Investigations Supervisor role, so join our team and make a meaningful impact on youth and the community at DJS!�\r\n\r\n\r\nThe main purpose of this position is to provide direct supervision and oversight to OIG investigators responsible for investigating allegations of administrative and criminal violations by and against employees and service providers involving child abuse, excessive use of force, assaults, child neglect, sexual abuse, serious injuries, escapes and AWOLs, fraud, other serious allegations identified by agency leadership, and inquiries regarding youth security threat involvement, as well as conducting investigations of the aforementioned on an as-needed basis.�\r\n\r\n\r\nSome key responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:�\r\n\r\n\r\n• Manages the day-to-day operations of the Investigations Unit.�\r\n• Provides oversight and monitoring regarding alerts of DJS youth suspected of involvement with a security threat group.�\r\n• Monitors the Incident Reporting Database to ensure that investigators are reviewing the database as required by the Director of Investigations. The position also monitors the database to ensure that incidents have been recorded by the facility/field.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThis position is eligible to work a hybrid telework schedule.�\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r\nExperience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work. \r\nNotes: \r\n1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience. \r\n2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience. \r\n3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience. \r\n4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. \r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

\r\nThe preferred candidate for this position may\r\npossess any of the following qualifications:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n• Experience investigating\r\nadministrative or criminal allegations/incidents in accordance with\r\ndepartmental policy and procedures, directives, and applicable law.�\r\n• Knowledge of the juvenile justice system, residential and\r\ncommunity-based services, and youth-serving programs.\r\n• Knowledge of investigation techniques for ascertaining facts by\r\npersonal contact, observation, and the examination of records. Knowledge of\r\ninvestigative interviewing practices and techniques.�\r\n• Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented.�\r\n• Experience partnering with system and community stakeholders and\r\nsystem-impacted youth and families.�\r\n• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with\r\ndiverse populations and all levels of management, employees, stakeholders, and\r\ncommunities both orally and in writing.��\r\n• Ability to exercise sound judgment in matters affecting youth\r\nsafety and Departmental integrity.\r\n\r\n\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n
