Main Purpose of Job
To provide occupational instruction in 'Masonry' and practical application in a classroom learning environment in order to enhance employment opportunities.
POSITION DUTIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to:\r\n\r\n\r\n Provide instrucion in 'Masonry,' conducts orientation of new students as to program policies and expected behavior conducive to learning; provides students with basic and specialized theoretical and practical training including knowledge of materials, and good office practices.\r\n Develops course curriculm, lesson plans and alternative instruction for individualized and independent study for use in classrom and lab instruction of students and revises as necessary to reflect current market changes and trends; selects and requisitions materials and supplies that support program curriculm activities.\r\n Maintains attendance records and competency profiles for each student to faciliate measurable acheivement of program outcomes in accordance with reporting procedures and Correctional Education requirements.\r\n Maintains security of all equipment in accordance with DOC policies and regulations.\r\n Receives and monitors live work projects as approved by principal.\r\n\r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:�� Possession of appropriate educational credentials as determined by the Maryland State Board of Education. \r\nExperience: None. \r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants�who possess the following preferred qualification(s).�Include clear and specific information on your application regarding�your qualifications.\r\n\r\nPossess a minimum of three (3) years of verifiable, satisfactory, occupational experience directly in MASONRY as it relates to the following:\r\n\r\n1. Candidates who possess current Trades & Industry Certification with MSDE that is directly related to MASONRY.\r\n\r\n2. Candidates who possess a bachelor's or higher degree in a state-approved career and technology program from an institution of higher education and have a minimum of two (2) years of satisfactory occupational experience directly related to MASONRY (within ten (10) years and includes one (1) year full-time employment).\r\n\r\n3. Candidates who possess a bachelor's or higher degree in industrial arts/technology education, industrial technology, or in the trade to be taught from an institution of higher education and have a minimum of two (2) years of satisfactory occupational experience directly related to MASONRY (within ten (10) years and includes one (1) year full-time employment).\r\n\r\n4. Candidates who possess an associate degree in the trade to be taught or a bachelor's or higher degree from an Institution of higher education and have a minimum of three (3) years of satisfactory occupational experience directly related to MASONRY (within ten (10) years and includes one (1) year full-time employment).\r\n\r\n5. Candidates who possess a secondary school diploma and a minimum of three (3) years of satisfactory occupational experience directly related to MASONRY (within ten (10) years and includes one (1) year full time employment).\r\n\r\n6. Experience working with incarcerated individuals.\r\n\r\n
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Teachers in State operated school programs are required to acquire and maintain certification to teach in the State of Maryland per Education Article, Section 6-101 of the Annotated Code of�Maryland�and Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 13A.12.01.03B(2). Applicants recommended for appointment will be required to complete an Authorization and Verification of Credentials. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
\r\nAll candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (LABOR/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to LABOR/DUI as a result of unemployment overpayment/fraud. Any unpaid debt may have an impact on whether or not a candidate is offered employment.\r\n\r\n
