Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to function as an Office Services Clerk Lead for the MDH - Office of Eligibility Services - Eligibility Determinations Division. This position assigns, reviews, and approves the work of and trains lower-level clerks performing diverse clerical duties, which support agency operations. This position works closely with the Office Supervisor to ensure the timely completion of clerical functions, accurate interpretation of, and compliance with office regulations and procedures.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

\r\nEducation:� �Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: Two years of experience performing clerical duties.�\r\n\r\n\r\nNotes:�\r\n\r\n\r\n1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience.�\r\n\r\n\r\n�2. Six months clerical training with three courses in subjects such as keyboarding, clerical math, word processing, spreadsheets, data base, graphics presentation, proofreading, or office etiquette may be substituted for six months of the required experience.�\r\n\r\n\r\n3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administrative classifications or in Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Clerical Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience working in a mail room�\r\n Experience with the preparation, scanning and document retention of large quantities of documents�\r\n Experience accurately keying information into database management systems�\r\n Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
