POSITION DUTIES

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe incumbent teaches classes to criminal justice entrance-level students and is also responsible for coordinating training classes taught by other instructors. The incumbent also researches and develops classes on various criminal justice related topics. The incumbent will instruct Legislative Mandated training for members of Administrative Charging Committee, Administrative Law Judges, Law Enforcement Command - Level personnel and Police Trial Board Civilian members. Assists other units in presenting program materials.\r\n\r\n\r\nJob duties include but are not limited to:\r\n\r\n\r\n Instructs Legislative Mandated training for members of Administrative Charging Committee and Police Trial Board Civilian members\r\n Assists other units in presenting program materials\r\n Assists unit members with field training and train-the-trainer programs\r\n Evaluate training courses to determine their value before material is presented\r\n Design and implement assigned associated programmatic projects\r\n Conduct on-going research to update training materials/lesson plans/power point presentations for assigned classes\r\n Arrange/coordinate the training locations within assigned areas\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nEducation: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: Five (5) years of experience in the law enforcement profession to include two (2) years of experience as a Police Trainer/Instructor, developing and delivering training.\r\n\r\n\r\nNotes:\r\nCandidates may substitute additional professional experience as defined above on a year-for-year basis for the required education, for up to four years.\r\n\r\n\r\n

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.\r\n\r\n\r\nValid MPCTC Academic Instructor Certification (COMAR 12.04.04 or 12.10.06), or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English. The ideal candidate must effectively and respectfully communicate with diverse populations, providing services to individuals with different beliefs, behaviors, and interpersonal styles in confinement or community settings. Professional working fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, or any other language is a plus.\r\n
