Main Purpose of Job
The\r\nmain purpose of this position is to provide regional leadership, program\r\noversight, and strategic coordination for workforce development initiatives\r\nadministered by the Maryland Department of Labor. This position serves as the\r\ndepartment’s primary representative within assigned regions and is responsible\r\nfor managing multiple programs, projects, partnerships, and operational\r\ninitiatives that support organizational priorities and effective service\r\ndelivery.\r\n�The reemployment program director leads and develops\r\nstaff, fosters collaboration among internal and external stakeholders, provides\r\ntechnical assistance and operational guidance, monitors performance and\r\ncompliance, and drives continuous improvement efforts across assigned regions.\r\nThis position is responsible for coordinating complex initiatives, managing\r\ncompeting priorities, supporting organizational change, and ensuring that\r\nprograms and services are delivered effectively and efficiently, and aligned\r\nwith department goals and objectives\r\n
POSITION DUTIES
Duties of this position include but are not limited to:\r\n• Serving as the Maryland Department of Labor’s\r\nregional representative and collaborating with Local Workforce Development\r\nBoards, One-Stop Operators, Chief Elected Officials, community organizations,\r\neducational institutions, employers, and other workforce system partners to\r\nsupport effective service delivery and strategic workforce initiatives;�\r\n• Monitoring program performance, operational\r\noutcomes, and customer service trends; identifying areas for improvement; and\r\nimplementing corrective actions, process improvements, and strategic\r\ninitiatives to achieve organizational goals;\r\n• Managing multiple programs, projects,\r\ncontracts, and operational initiatives simultaneously; coordinating resources,\r\ntimelines, stakeholders, and deliverables to support effective service delivery\r\nand organizational priorities;\r\n• Implementing administrative policies and\r\nproviding leadership, guidance, and oversight to staff responsible for\r\ndelivering workforce and employment-related services across assigned regions;\r\n•\r\nInterpreting and communicating departmental policies, procedures, and program\r\nrequirements to staff, partners, stakeholders, and the public to ensure\r\nconsistent understanding and implementation;\r\n• Investigating operational issues, customer concerns,\r\npartner inquiries, and program challenges; developing and implementing\r\nsolutions to improve service delivery and organizational effectiveness;\r\n• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and\r\nlocal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including those related to\r\nprogram operations, personnel management, accessibility, equal opportunity, and\r\ncustomer service;\r\n• Conducting personnel activities involving assigned staff,\r\nincluding recruitment, hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management,\r\nemployee development, succession planning, and disciplinary actions when\r\nnecessary;\r\n• Leading cross-functional projects and coordinating efforts\r\namong multiple programs, departments, and stakeholders to support statewide\r\ninitiatives and organizational priorities.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.\r\nExperience: Six years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.\r\n
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

However, if you have this experience it must be detailed in the job duty section on your application.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience managing Workforce development programs for varied populations.\r\nExperience establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.\r\nExperience managing reemployment programs for varied populations.\r\nExperience developing, delivering, or supporting staff training, coaching, professional development, or organizational learning initiatives\r\n\r\n
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
