Main Purpose of Job

This position will perform a variety of skilled trades work—including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, masonry, painting, locksmithing, and welding—to maintain, repair, and improve Maryland National Guard facilities statewide. This position will ensure safe, functional, and mission-ready facilities that directly support the operational readiness of Soldiers, Airmen, and civilian staff.\r\n

POSITION DUTIES

Positions duties included, but\r\nnot limited to:�\r\n\r\n\r\n�� Complete all customer\r\nservice requests and work orders.�\r\n�� Maintain, repair and\r\nperform maintenance on all structures, buildings, facilities, roads, and\r\ngrounds that are located on the facility.�\r\n�� Troubleshoot\r\ninfrastructure systems to determine faults.�\r\n�� Performs preventative\r\nmaintenance on related systems that include but is not limited to HVAC, electrical,\r\nand plumbing systems�\r\n�� Maintain all equipment\r\nused.�\r\n�� Ensure proper care in\r\nthe use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous\r\nimprovement of workplace safety and environmental practices.��\r\n�� Perform miscellaneous\r\njob-related duties as assigned.�\r\n�� Ensure compliance with\r\nsafety codes, environmental standards, and security procedures. \r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency\r\ncertificate.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: Two years of experience performing skilled trade work in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, locksmith, masonry, painting, or welding work.�\r\n\r\n\r\nNote:�\r\n1. Candidates may substitute additional years of experience for the required education on a year-for-year basis.�\r\n\r\n\r\n2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \r\n\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

This position will require the ability to pass a\r\nState & Federal background check to access military facilities within the\r\nstate of Maryland and to obtain a CAC card.�The ability to obtain and\r\nmaintain this access to the facility and CAC card is a condition of employment\r\nfor this position. �\r\n
