Main Purpose of Job

This position will provide journey-level skilled trades support (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, locksmith, masonry, painting and welding) to maintain safe, code-compliant, and fully operational Maryland National Guard facilities statewide. This role directly supports mission readiness by ensuring building systems operate reliably, preventative maintenance is performed on schedule, and emergent repairs are resolved swiftly to keep training and operations uninterrupted.\r\n

POSITION DUTIES

Positions duties include, but are not limited to:\r\n\r\n��� Complete all customer\r\nservice requests and work orders.�\r\n��� Perform advanced\r\ncarpentry, masonry, plastering and finishing.�\r\n��� Plan, estimate, and\r\noversee large or complex maintenance projects.�\r\n��� Coordinate with\r\nvendors and other trades.�\r\n��� Interpret and work\r\nfrom blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment schematics�\r\n��� Conduct routine\r\ninspections and diagnostics on infrastructure systems.�\r\n��� Ensure compliance with\r\nsafety codes, environmental standards, and security procedures. \r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency\r\ncertificate.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: Three years of experience performing skilled trade work in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, locksmith, masonry, painting, or welding work.�\r\n\r\n\r\nNote:�\r\n1. Candidates may substitute additional years of experience for the required education on a year-for-year basis.�\r\n\r\n\r\n2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

At least 3\r\nyears of HVAC experience.\r\nAt least 3 years\r\nof Plumbing experience.�\r\nAt least 3\r\nyears of Electrical experience.�\r\nAt least 3\r\nyears interpreting and working from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment\r\nschematics.\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

This position will require the ability to pass a\r\nState & Federal background check to access military facilities within the\r\nstate of Maryland and to obtain a CAC card.�The ability to obtain and\r\nmaintain this access to the facility and CAC card is a condition of employment\r\nfor this position. �\r\n
