At Waters & Sims, a member of the Merakey family of companies, we empower people living with disabilities to live, work, and integrate successfully into the community. We are seeking a full-time Employment Training Specialist to join our Supported Employment Services team in Monmouth County, NJ.

Earn: $22.12 per hour, plus benefits and mileage reimbursement

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week; 8:30 AM-4:30 PM

​The Employment Training Specialist provides individualized employment training and support to adults with disabilities participating in NJDOL-funded services for the NJCIE grant. The position is responsible for helping individuals develop the skills, confidence, and workplace behaviors necessary to pursue competitive integrated employment and achieve greater independence in the workplace and community. They provide training in classroom, community, and workplace settings, working collaboratively with participants, employers, families’/support teams, and other service providers.

Responsibilities

  • →Assessing strengths, interests, abilities, and employment goals and develops training strategies tailored to each participant’s needs.
  • →Focusing on job-readiness training, workplace skills development, communication and social skills, problem-solving, time management, technology and digital literacy, workplace safety, supported workplace learning, and other skills necessary for successful employment. 
  • →Assisting individuals in applying learned skills in real-world environments, obtaining/maintaining employment, and increasing independence over time.

  • →​Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • →​Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employers and community partners.​
