Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. \r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and the Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations** \r\n

Nature of Work

The\r\nfundamental reason this classification exists is to manage the operation and\r\nguest experience of ride attractions at the Montgomery Zoo, including the\r\ntrain, sky tram, giraffe encounter, and tortoise trek.� The work\r\nresponsibilities include supervising two or more full-time employees,\r\nconducting safety inspections on ride attractions and equipment, assisting the\r\nmaintenance department with upkeep around the zoo, and managing the daily\r\noperation of all rides. The Attractions Manager reports to the Maintenance and\r\nConstruction Supervisor.\r\n

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or G.E.D., and two\r\nyears of supervisory experience in a customer service setting, including\r\nworking with ride attractions or guest services in environments such as a zoo,\r\namusement park, or similar facility. Experience in general maintenance or\r\nskilled trades with knowledge of safety protocols and preventative maintenance\r\nis a plus.\r\n\r\n\r\nNOTE:� Qualifying\r\neducation, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge,\r\nskills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.\r\n

Special Requirements

\r\n\r\nMust\r\nbe willing to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours. Must be able to walk,\r\nstoop and climb for extended periods of time, including working in adverse\r\nweather conditions (cold, heat and rain). Must be willing to work with adults\r\nand children of various backgrounds.\r\nMust be able to perform job functions at heights up to 40 feet.� Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama\r\nDriver’s license as needed to transport parts and other supplies. Must be\r\nphysically able to lift 60 lbs. unassisted as needed help small children onto\r\nthe sky tram.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Kind of Examination
