Project Title Design and Development of Operational Improvement Tools for VantexB and VantexBX Workstations Project Description This internship project focuses on the application of data analytics and artificial intelligence techniques to enhance operations within the Dry Etch Dielectric team in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The project provides exposure to VantexB and VantexBX equipment platforms used in dielectric etching processes. The intern will explore data-driven approaches to analyse operational performance, identify inefficiencies, and develop practical improvement tools. The project emphasises structured learning through system understanding, data analysis, and solution development, culminating in an end-to-end workflow from data extraction to visualisation of insights. Objectives Apply data analytics and artificial intelligence techniques to improve equipment-related processes Develop a structured and scalable solution for improving the repair loop process for equipment components Enhance visibility and decision-making through data-driven insights Opportunities for Full Time Employment High-performing interns may be considered for full-time positions, subject to business needs and individual performance. Project Scope The student will: * Develop understanding of semiconductor dry etch equipment hardware and system architecture * Explore preventive maintenance concepts and methodologies within a manufacturing setting * Study current practices in equipment repair and component handling processes * Analyse operational data related to equipment performance and repair workflows * Design and develop analytical tools or dashboards to improve operational efficiency * Build an end-to-end workflow including data extraction, preprocessing, analysis, and visualisation Learning Opportunities * Exposure to semiconductor manufacturing processes, particularly dry etch dielectric operations * Practical application of data analytics and artificial intelligence in an industrial environment * Understanding of equipment lifecycle management and maintenance strategies * Experience in developing end-to-end analytical solutions * Collaboration with engineering professionals and subject matter experts * Deliverables * A functional end-to-end analytical solution addressing equipment repair or operational improvement needs * Data models, visualisation dashboards, or reporting tools to enhance process visibility * Documentation outlining methodology, analysis findings, and recommendations Impact of the Project * Improved efficiency and transparency in equipment repair and operational workflows * Enhanced data-driven decision-making within the Dry Etch Dielectric team * Contribution to continuous improvement initiatives in semiconductor manufacturing operations Skillsets Required * Strong problem-solving skills * Basic knowledge of data analytics concepts * Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications * Interest in engineering systems and data analysis Courses of Interest * Engineering disciplines (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering) * Data Analytics or related fields Duration Period Minimum 6 months About Micron Technology, Inc.
