Our beautiful 196-room hotel features multiple dining outlets, banquet facilities, six spacious event rooms, and a stunning outdoor tent venue, making us a premier destination for weddings, meetings, and special events. We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Engineer to join our Engineering and Maintenance team. Position Overview The Engineer is responsible for maintaining the property, equipment, and overall operations of the hotel. This position performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and installations related to the building and its systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies. The Engineer plays a vital role in providing a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and team members. Essential Responsibilities Building Maintenance & Repairs Inspect the hotel building, grounds, and equipment on a regular basis. Perform routine maintenance and necessary repairs throughout the property. Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical issues. Install, repair, and maintain hotel equipment and appliances. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments. Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and to company standards. Follow local and state building codes and regulations. Preventative Maintenance Perform preventative maintenance according to established schedules and maintenance matrices. Monitor building systems to identify potential issues before they become major repairs. Maintain maintenance logs and accurately document completed work. Provide progress updates and reports to the Maintenance Manager as requested. Assist in maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the property. Safety & Compliance Comply with all company safety regulations and procedures. Maintain a safe work environment for guests, associates, and contractors. Properly handle and store chemicals, tools, paints, and maintenance materials. Report safety concerns, hazards, or equipment malfunctions immediately. Follow all operational and emergency procedures. Team Collaboration Collaborate with the maintenance team, contractors, and other hotel departments. Follow written and verbal instructions from the Maintenance Manager. Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and technical instructions. Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times. Wear the required uniform properly and adhere to company grooming standards. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Fluent in English with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair procedures. Thorough knowledge of hand tools and carpentry tools. Ability to repair and maintain basic electrical and plumbing systems. Ability to safely operate power tools, hand tools, electrical tools, and plumbing equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Highly dependable and professional. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed. Preferred Previous hotel maintenance experience. Trade certifications or licenses in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or related fields. Experience working with preventative maintenance programs. Familiarity with commercial building systems and equipment. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work is performed throughout the entire hotel property, both indoors and outdoors. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and lifting. Regular use of chemicals, ladders, paints, painting equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Ability to work around electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and maintenance systems. Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
