MLB’s Marketing team in Korea is responsible for executing marketing and brand activations targeting the Korean audience. Activities include online/offline brand promotions, paid media, social media, content development, and promotions for MLB’s domestic and global events. The Senior Manager will be responsible for developing the overall marketing strategy in Korea to grow MLB’s brand presence, along with executing digital campaigns, media events, and experiential events. The ideal candidate will have expertise in marketing strategy, communications, and event marketing, offering strong bilingual communication skills to drive synergies with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy
- Coordinate with the local and regional marketing teams to develop annual marketing plans based on MLB’s local marketing strategy
- Collaborate with revenue-driving functions to integrate value-add and new revenue mechanisms into the marketing plan
- Identify and negotiate with various agencies to maximize MLB’s marketing pursuits in Korea
Communications
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to integrate media exposure opportunities into major initiatives across the market, maintaining consistent messaging and strategic alignment
- Work with agencies/vendors to develop press materials, and execute press events and influencer events
- Develop and maintain local media and influencer relationships
Event Marketing
- Lead end-to-end execution of marketing events (ideation, operations, reporting) with focus on growing fandom and viewership in Korea
- Work closely with creative and event agencies to develop event expressions that align with market objectives
- Communicate with internal/external stakeholders to create synergies with revenue-driving functions
Qualifications & Skills
- At least ten (10) years’ experience in a marketing or media relations role
- Experience or knowledge in multiple marketing functions including agency relations, paid media, paid social, and event marketing
- Strong command of both English (native) and Korean (native)
- Strong industry relationships built over years of work with agencies, platforms, and freelancers
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Communications, or related field is required
- Must possess excellent analytical and communication skills
- Detail oriented and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a demanding, fast-paced, high-exposure environment
- Great teammate with strong project management and organizational skills
