We are currently recruiting for a Fulltime Spend Analytics Analyst to support our Spend Analytics team.
Position Overview
The Spend Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting Strategic Sourcing Teams through the collection, reporting, and analysis of data to provide critical insights for the RFx process. The responsibilities extend to compliance, opportunity identification, and specialized reporting. This position works collaboratively with various stakeholders, leveraging analytical and technical skills to drive process improvements and support the overall objectives of the department.
Key Responsibilities
Core Reporting and Analysis Duties:
Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders to define the scope based on business or project requirements.
Data Research & Analysis: Perform comprehensive data research and analysis to determine product inclusion based on requirements.
Data Mining & Cleansing: Conduct data mining, cleansing, and verification to ensure accuracy before compiling.
Data Compilation for Business Requirements: Compile, analyze, and normalize data at a detailed level (by product, volume/analysis consumption, and spend) for use in financial analysis, compliance, opportunity identification, and ad-hoc reporting.
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports, incorporating strategies and insights, along with visualizations, summaries, and detailed data breakdowns to meet stakeholder needs.
Data Integrity Analysis: Perform detailed analysis to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data.
Data Dissemination: Disseminate data into ERP, Member Portal, and internal systems.
Project Management Tool Maintenance: Maintain project management tools to ensure accuracy and visibility for all stakeholders.
Multi-Task Coordination: Manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines through clear communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
Process Improvement, Optimization, and Development:
Enhance Customer Experience: Continuously improve the customer experience through strategic collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Prioritize Documentation: Ensure the documentation of business processes is accurate and up to date.
Develop Business Cases: Create business cases for new enhancements to existing processes and systems.
Support System Enhancements: Provide test cases, complete testing, create training documents, and train peers to support system enhancements.
Cross-Functional Training: Participate in cross-functional training to support vacation coverage.
Peer Support and Mentoring: Offer peer support and mentoring as required.
Broaden Impact Awareness: Develop an understanding of how personal day-to-day responsibilities contribute to the larger picture and overall impact.
Qualifications and Skills
Education, Training, and Experience
Analytical & Critical Thinking Skills: Strong analytical thinking and critical thinking abilities, enabling the interpretation of data, identification of trends, and generation of actionable insights to inform and drive business decisions.
Project Management & Multitasking: Effective project management skills, able to coordinate multiple priorities and competing stakeholder demands and deadlines, with a demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
Business Requirements Elicitation: Expertise in gathering and interpreting business requirements through targeted questions in interviews and conducting workshops.
Decision-Making Skills: Demonstrates strong decision-making abilities, initiative-taking, resourcefulness and capable of performing effectively with minimal supervision.
Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to data, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all deliverables, while maintaining a high standard of data quality.
Presentation and Influence: Excellent presentation abilities, complemented by a successful history of building credibility and fostering consensus.
Professional Interaction: Capable of engaging with executives, senior program leads, and value stream partners in a professional and effective manner.
Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams in data-driven initiatives, as well as mentoring team members and contributing to their development.
Mandatory
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field, demonstrating a proven track record of delivering impactful data solutions in challenging environments.
Education: Post secondary degree or diploma
Preferred
MS Office Proficiency: Comprehensive knowledge in all aspects of MS Office and electronic communication.
Excel Expertise: Advanced skills in MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, Analytics, Dashboards, and Lookups.
Analytical and Automation Tools: Experience with analytical and automation tools such as Power BI and Power Automate.
Data Extraction Skills: Proficiency in SQL, MS Access, and familiarity with other data extraction/query tools preferred.
Technical Solutions Experience: 3-5 years of experience in collecting and documenting requirements for various technical solutions, demonstrating strong technical acumen.
Data Handling Experience: Proven experience in data extraction, cleaning, analysis, and developing reporting solutions to meet diverse business needs.
Travel
Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.

MMC is a Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) employer offering a comprehensive benefits package and flexible remote work options. The targeted hiring range of this role is $62,096 - $64,099 dependent on experience. This job posting is for an existing vacancy.
