The Estimator is responsible for estimating labor, performing and/or receiving take offs from material take off personnel, compile bid information and execute bid letters and bid forms.

Responsibilities

  • →Review bid inquiries upon receipt and understand scope of work to bid
  • →Log in bid information including due dates
  • →Review bid information with material take off personnel
  • →Obtain pricing for materials
  • →Estimate labor, receive take offs from material take off personnel, compile bid information and execute bid letters and bid forms
  • →Converse with customers regarding bid and job information
  • →Prepare cost analysis by summarizing material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items
  • →Compile schedules for various jobs as needed
  • →Fill out and distribute job cost breakdown sheets to operations and accounting departments
  • →Complete work order sheets with all job information known, date that job is due, paint system and color required, X-Ray, hydrotest, etc. and forward to the Operations Department
  • →Estimate profit/loss on each project
  • →Process change orders for Project Managers
  • →Obey and follow all safety rules and policies
  • →Perform all other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor

Requirements

  • High School dimploma or equivalent education
  • Drafting/Associate’s Degree from a college or trade school is preferred
  • 3+ years estimating experience in the Oil and Fabrication industry area
  • 5+ years estimating experience preferred
  • Intermediate level written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word
  • Experience operating standard office equipment
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills
  • For new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen
  • For new hires, must successfully complete all required training by Performance Energy Services
