Japan Operations belongs to Morgan Stanley's Global Operations and is composed of Shared Services and Banking Operations (SSBO), Operations Risk & Regulatory Control (ORRC), and ISG Institutional Equities Division / Fixed Income Operations (ISG).
The ISG Institutional Equities Division supports products such as cash equity (stock loan inclusive), cash fixed income (repo inclusive), FX and OTC derivatives (equity-related, fixed income-related, FX-related), listed futures and OTC derivatives client clearing. The group is responsible of client account opening and maintenance, booking of transactions, reconciliation with exchanges and brokers, preparation and distribution of client-related reporting, and collateral management.
We are currently seeking some to join as an Associate in our Collateral & Indications Ops team withing the ISG group, this position will manage OTC derivatives collateral control of the Japanese clients trading with Morgan Stanley Japan as well as UK and US affiliates of Morgan Stanley.
What you'll do in the role:
* Execute processes/functions and/or support process management and project efforts, leveraging knowledge of the systems, markets and instruments that influence the team
* Recognize risk in day-to-day processes to draw out the key issues and contribute to process improvements
* Build relationships within team and internal stakeholders, sharing knowledge to contribute to team output
* Participate in projects and initiatives, aiding in solution formulation with a focus on timely execution
Expected Skill and Experience,
* Ability to work in a multi-lingual Multi Cultural environment, collaborating with colleagues across local and regional teams
* Ability to establish clear goals and priorities, and address non-standard issues within area of expertise with minimal guidance and supervision
* Subject matter expertise in business area supported, client requirements, and ability to ensure control is not compromised to comply with client requests
* Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values
* At least 2 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
* Fluency in English and Japanese. (Native or Advanced Business Level required)
