As Marqeta’s Senior Manager, Bank Partnerships, you will manage and enhance relationships with existing issuing bank partners and develop new relationships.

The Partner Operations team is a key division within Marqeta's broader Go-To-Market Organization, responsible for global bank and network partnership strategies, and solution design and delivery. This leadership role will serve as the primary contact for our bank partners, helping to drive incremental program growth, maintain strong relationships, and play a key role in managing some of Marqeta’s largest and most strategic account relationships.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remote within the United States or from our Oakland, CA or New York City offices. We’d love for you to join us!

NOTE: if you are based within 35 miles of our Oakland, California, New York City (Midtown) or London office, you will be expected to be in-office 2 days / week. The Talent team will share more details if selected for the Recruiter Interview.

  • Act as the primary liaison between Marqeta and existing bank issuing partners, fostering strong, collaborative relationships, and regularly communicating to understand needs and drive program performance (Relationship Management).
  • Collaborate with bank partners and internal product development teams to launch new products and features that meet market and client demands (Product launch and Development).
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to make sure the company and its programs are fully compliant with bank requirements (Program oversight and compliance).
  • Lead the negotiation and management of contracts to ensure favorable terms, minimize risk, and optimize financial terms (Contractual Oversight & Negotiations and Economic Optimization).
  • Oversee day-to-day operational responsibilities like invoice validation, audit coordination, and customer service/regulatory escalations, while establishing and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report on bank partnership performance (Operational support and Analytics).
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in financial services, partnership management, business development, or similar roles.  Direct FinTech experience or experience managing bank sponsored card products for program managers is a strong plus.  
  • Proven experience in leading and managing strategic partnerships at a senior level, with extensive negotiation expertise in commercial agreements and optimising financial outcomes for the company
  • Strong knowledge of Visa and MasterCard rules 
  • A strategic thinker with a data-driven approach, capable of developing and executing complex, long-term strategies that align with organizational goals
  • Comfortable working with senior leadership with ability to influence individuals and drive an agenda
  • Bachelors Degree is required, advanced degree is a plus
