The HR Specialist will report to and partner with the HR Manager, Decatur, IL location.
This is a full time, non-exempt position 100% on-site
Summary: The HR Specialist will report to and partner with the HR Manager, Decatur, IL location. This position will provide administrative and transactional HR support for colleagues and leaders within the Corn plant. The HR Specialist will support recruiting, onboarding, employee records, HRIS transactions, attendance and leave administration, benefits, reporting, and other HR processes while maintaining confidentiality and providing excellent customer service.

Position Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Human Resources department and assist with routine HR processes.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files, HR records, and documentation.
Process routine employee changes in the HRIS, including transfers, promotions, job changes, status changes, and terminations.
Assist with employee data audits and ensure HR information is accurate and current.
Assist with recruitment by working with Talent Acquisition COE and plant colleagues, including scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, and following up on pre-employment requirements.
Coordinate new colleague onboarding activities, including required documentation, I-9 completion, orientation, system access, badges, and onboarding checklists.
Maintain onboarding and offboarding documentation and follow up on outstanding items.
Maintain attendance and other HR-related trackers and provide administrative support for leave and return-to-work processes.
Assist with FMLA, leave of absence, accommodations, and other absence-related documentation under the direction of the HR team.
Assist with benefits enrollment, employee status changes, and routine benefits questions.
Prepare HR forms, letters, reports, spreadsheets, and other documentation.
Prepare routine HR reports, including headcount, turnover, staffing, attendance, and other HR metrics.
Maintain seniority lists, position bidding documentation, and other HR records required in a union environment.
Provide administrative support for grievance and labor relations activities as directed by the HR Manager.
Assist with payroll-related HR transactions and research routine payroll or benefit discrepancies.
Support HR audits, compliance requirements, and record retention processes.
Serve as a resource for routine HR administrative questions and escalate complex employee relations, policy, or contract matters to the HR Manager or appropriate HR team member.
Assist with colleague recognition, engagement activities, HR communications, and department events.
Support HR projects, process improvements, and other initiatives as assigned.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
AS/AAS in Business, Human Resources, or related field is preferred.
BA/BS in Business, Human Resources, or related field is preferred.
1-3 years of administrative, Human Resources, payroll, recruiting, or related experience preferred.
Experience with an HRIS preferred.
Manufacturing or union environment experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
$45,700.00 - $85,000.00
