DUTIES: Michigan State University seeks an Assistant Professor of Political Science in East Lansing, Michigan.
Duties include research (65%), teaching (25%), and service (10%) to the discipline, unit, college, and university. Research-active faculty are expected to publish 1-2 articles, on average, per year based on original research in peer-reviewed journals in their field (or an equivalent amount in original books). Teaching courses assigned by department at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels; normal course load is 2 courses in one semester and 1 course in the other. Mentorship of Ph.D. students and undergraduates on research projects. Service work can include participation in committees at the department, college, or university level, or in disciplinary professional groups; reviewing manuscripts for publication; and contributing to publications for public-facing outlets.
This position does not require travel.

Experience must include: Experience teaching Social Science and Computational Research at the Graduate or Undergraduate level. Experience in at least one of the following: Bayesian methodologies, temporal or geospatial prediction, network analysis, text analytics, statistical learning, or causal inference.
