This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

We are seeking a motivated research technician to assist with ongoing research projects involving sea lamprey and zebrafish at Michigan State University. The research focuses on genome editing, primordial germ cell development, reproductive biology, and tissue regeneration. The technician will assist with maintaining laboratory animals, collecting and processing tissue samples, performing molecular biology experiments, and supporting ongoing research activities. The position will also provide opportunities to gain hands-on experience in genomics and developmental biology.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field.

Experience or strong interest in molecular biology, genetics, developmental biology, or genomics.

Basic laboratory skills, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and tissue preparation.

Experience working with zebrafish or other aquatic organisms is preferred but not required.

Interest in genome editing, CRISPR/Cas9, and reproductive biology.
