Applied Knowledge: Possessing the court procedural knowledge of all types of case processing, and supervising staff using best practices to ensure high performing court operations and customer service.
Supervisory Skills: The ability to delegate working effectively, applying the organization’s established Standards of Supervision for staff. Skills include Ability and skills to constructively critique the work of staff as necessary and using best practices to effectively engage with staff in “difficult conversations” when necessary.
Technical Knowledge and Use of Office Technology: Demonstrates the technical knowledge and ability to effectively use business software, the MassCourts case processing system, and other office equipment to meet operational needs of the office.

Requirements

• Departmental and court policies and procedures.
• Code of Ethics.
• Principles and practices of employee supervision.
• MassCourts experience preferred.
• Court schedules or Probation activities.
• State statutes.
• Legal documents and terminology.

• Organization and time management.
• Attention to detail.
• Data entry.
• Customer service.
Ability to:
• Establish effective working relationships with others.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports and perform research.
• Maintain appropriate records.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Work independently and follow oral and written instructions.
• Maintain trial or hearing exhibits in an orderly manner.
• Identify problems and develop creative solutions.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position serves as a supervisor to others.
Working Conditions: Work is frequently performed in office or similar indoor environments.
Physical Demands: This position requires sedentary work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if
walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
