Job Title: Sr. Controller
Location: Jerusalem (on-site, full-time)

Nefesh B’Nefesh is a nonprofit organization with a staff of 170, committed to supporting Aliyah and enriching Jewish life in Israel. We are seeking a strategic Sr. Controller to oversee the financial health and long‑term planning of the organization.

Overview
The Sr. Controller will lead the accounting and related operations, CF forecasting, and compliance. This senior leadership role partners with executive leadership and plays a key part in shaping the organization’s financial future.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage cash flow, reserves, and financial performance metrics
• Lead the accounting department
  
• Prep and oversight of audit of annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with Israeli tax law, nonprofit regulations, and internal controls
• Manage relationships with auditors, legal counsel, tax advisors, suppliers, and financial institutions
• Enhance financial systems and processes to support organizational growth
• This position has the potential for long-term growth trajectory

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Controller in Israel or similar financial role
• Strong knowledge of Israeli accounting/bookkeeping, payroll
• Experience with nonprofit financial regulations - required
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience with managing relationships with large suppliers and service providers. 
  
• Israeli CPA
  
• Experience running a budget of over $25 million
• Native‑level English (required) and professional Hebrew proficiency (required)
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
• High proficiency with Israeli financial systems 
• Ability to work full-time on‑site in our Jerusalem office
