Job Title: Controller
Location: Jerusalem (on-site, full-time)

Nefesh B’Nefesh is a nonprofit organization with a staff of 170, committed to supporting Aliyah and enriching Jewish life in Israel. We are seeking a strategic Controller to oversee the financial health and long‑term planning of the organization.

Overview
The Controller will lead the accounting and related operations, CF forecasting, and compliance. 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage cash flow, reserves, and financial performance metrics
• Lead the accounting department
  
• Prep and oversight of audit of annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with Israeli tax law, nonprofit regulations, and internal controls
• Manage relationships with auditors, legal counsel, tax advisors, suppliers, and financial institutions
• Enhance financial systems and processes to support organizational growth
• This position has the potential for long-term growth trajectory

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Controller in Israel or similar financial role
• Strong knowledge of Israeli accounting/bookkeeping, payroll
• Experience with nonprofit financial regulations - required
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience with managing relationships with large suppliers and service providers. 
  
• Israeli CPA
  
• Experience running a budget of over $25 million
• Native‑level English (required) and professional Hebrew proficiency (required)
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
• High proficiency with Israeli financial systems 
• Ability to work full-time on‑site in our Jerusalem office
