The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
• Considerable knowledge of and skill in the application of professional speech and language theory, techniques, principles, and procedures.
• Familiarity with a broad range of augmentative communication systems designed to develop functional communication for individuals who do not demonstrate typical communication abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well within a team of professionals and a willingness to adapt to change, when needed.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred but not required.
Per G.S. 126-5(c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.
