The RN Clinical Staff Education Manager is a Registered Nurse responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs that support clinical excellence and workforce development across Nevada Health Centers. This position directly supervises Medical Assistant (MA) Trainers and provides oversight of clinical education and competency development for Community Health Workers (CHWs), Clinical Support Team (CST), Licensed Social Workers (LSWs), and RN Case Managers.

The RN Clinical Education Manager ensures that training programs are evidence-based, compliant with regulatory requirements, and aligned with organizational goals for high-quality, equitable, and patient-centered care. The role also serves as a clinical mentor and education policy leader, supporting staff development and interdisciplinary collaboration across NVHC’s Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) sites.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive orientation and continuing education programs for MAs, CHWs, CSTs, LSWs, and RN Case Managers.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure education aligns with current clinical guidelines, best practices, and FQHC-specific requirements.
  • Supervise, educate, coach, and evaluate MA Trainers, ensuring training curricula are consistent, effective, and competency-based.
  • Lead the development, revision, and implementation of policies and procedures related to clinical training and scope of practice for Medical Assistants and MA-in-Training program
  • Ensure training programs support compliance with HRSA, OSHA, NSBME and other regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to workforce education and development.
  • Track and report training outcomes, competency assessments, and staff development metrics to leadership, with participation in NVHC Leadership roundtable, QI/QA and CEC meetings.
  • Partner with Behavioral Health, Care Management, and Population Health leaders to identify training needs and emerging priorities.
  • Serve as a clinical mentor, resource, and advocate for professional development across all clinical teams.
  • Travel to clinical sites as needed for supervision, training delivery, and program oversight.

Personnel Management:

  • Meets with direct reports and completes employee evaluation in accordance with NVHC policy
  • Interviews and provides input in regard to hiring RNs, CHWs and MAs
  • Administers employee disciplinary actions after discussion and approval of manager
  • Coordinates earned time off (ETO) for direct reports

Requirements

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
    • Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of NV
    • BLS/CPR certificate
    • 3+ years of experience in clinical education, staff development, or nursing leadership.
    • Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or Healthcare Administration
    • Prior supervisory or management experience in clinical education for RNs or Medical Assistants
    • Familiarity with EPIC EHR system
    • Familiarity with learning management systems
