Under the direction of a supervisor in the Department of Education, performs the analysis and evaluation of internal operations, business practices, methods and techniques of the organization to determine optimal solutions and/or approaches to satisfy agency information technology (IT) business needs/initiatives; evaluates users' needs and recommends (IT) solutions; provides recommendations in support of the agency's business needs and IT goals and objectives; formulates and/or recommends IT policies and procedures; may function as project leader.
Incumbents serving in this title perform tasks under general supervision and may be assigned a specific area of responsibility. Positions in this class exercise independent initiative and judgment in planning and carrying out assigned functions. It is reasonable to expect employees in this class to display a high degree of skill in or knowledge of a particular area. They may function as subject matter experts based on experience.
The candidate will perform the review, and analysis of the department's administrative processes and procedures, budgets, procurements, help prepare recommendations, streamline processes using automated tools where necessary, and perform other related work as required.

Seven (7) years of professional experience in work involving the review, analysis, and evaluation of the administrative, business, and/or operational policies, procedures, practices, and processes and/or the technological requirements of an organization for the purpose of revising/enhancing existing information systems and/or developing/acquiring and implementing new IT solutions and services.

Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and three (3) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.

Possession of a master’s degree in public administration, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Security, Network Administration, or Database Management; and two (2) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.

Preferred candidates will have demonstrated expertise using Microsoft Intune to develop, deploy, and maintain operating system images, application packages, hardware drivers, and security standards, as well as hands-on experience utilizing PowerShell scripting to automate administrative workflows.
Additionally, preferred qualifications include experience analyzing department-wide hardware needs, evaluating vendor roadmap strategies (such as Microsoft Feature Updates), and establishing multi-year hardware replacement policies and implementation schedules. Experience taking a lead role in technical incident investigation, authoring training materials for staff and end users, and collaborating with vendor support (including Microsoft) to resolve system issues is highly desirable.
Work to be performed may include:
Analyze department hardware replacement needs and help develop a department-wide, three-year hardware replacement policy.
Evaluate Microsoft feature update strategy based on department requirements, Microsoft support levels, and hardware requirements; prepare implementation schedules to reduce operational disruption and prevent data or time loss.
Develop, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot operating system images and endpoint management processes using Microsoft Intune, including mobile device implementation as assigned.
Analyze department software needs and create, implement, and maintain Microsoft Intune application packages.
Analyze hardware driver requirements and create, implement, and maintain Microsoft Intune hardware driver packages.
Review and recommend enhancements to Microsoft Intune configurations, policies, and related endpoint management processes.
Take a lead role in gathering technical information needed to help team members troubleshoot and resolve incidents efficiently.
