NEWKD and the Cork & Kerry Drug and Alcohol Task Force in conjunction with the HSE addiction services are recruiting for the post of Connect/DRIVE Co-ordinator.
The Connect recovery Co-ordinator will support the growth of Connect recovery in the Cork and Kerry region, along with supporting facilitators in the region.
The DRIVE Co-ordinator has responsibility for leading on delivery of the DRIVE interagency model. The role is aligned to the 2021 DRIVE Report (Data-driven Community intervention model to respond to Drug Related Intimidation and Violence Engagement in Ireland).
The position involves working a 35-hour week for a 2 years fixed contract. The location will be flexible based on the successful applicant’s location.
The roles cover the areas of Cork City, Cork County, and Kerry.

Job description:
Connect Recovery:
· Connect supports the development of Connect recovery meetings in the Cork & Kerry region.
· Provide training & support to Connect facilitators
· Support communities & services to establish Connect meetings.
· Provide information and promotional sessions to services regarding Connect
· Support the development of Connect programmes such as Family & Friends, Under 18s and prison initiatives
· Facilitate Connect meetings throughout the region
· Identify areas within the region where Connect Recovery meetings can be implemented and network with the relevant agencies.
· Develop a facilitators rota for each meeting
DRIVE: Drug Related Intimidation & Violence Engagement
· Provide support to individuals & family members experiencing DRI (Drug Related Intimidation)
· Provide support to services engaging with anyone experiencing DRI
· Develop pathways and support the delivery of the wrap around services that are available to the service user
· Co-ordinating data collection in each area with frontline service providers and reporting the findings to the national office which will inform practice & policy regarding DRI.
· Delivering DRIVE training programme to all frontline workers within the Cork & Kerry region.
· Contribute to regional structures such as the new community safety forum to promote solutions-based approaches to DRI and contribute to national information sharing events.
· Support families to access the supports provided by the local DRIVE inspector in each Garda Division.
· Develop & chair interagency groups with the objective of supporting services in the delivery of DRIVE and identify gaps and blocks that emerge.
Essential:
· Third level qualification in relevant field.
· 3 years + work experience in the area in community work, addiction or related field.
· Comprehensive understanding of addiction and recovery models, including trauma-informed, abstinence-based, and harm-reduction approaches.
· Experience facilitating groups
· Ability to develop, deliver & evaluate training
· Ability to network across a multitude of agencies
· Understanding the impact of drug debt and drug related intimidation within communities.
· Good report writing skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Good IT skills.
Desirable:
· Training development and delivery skills
· Communication, inter agency relationships building and people skills
· Coordination and project delivery skills

This role requires the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially, maintain appropriate interpersonal and professional limits, and uphold trust, privacy, and ethical standards at all times.
