Summary

The postholder will support the delivery of community‑focused programmes and services within a charity / local development environment. This role plays an important part in promoting social inclusion, empowering individuals, and strengthening communities. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues, partner agencies, and service users to ensure high‑quality, impactful outcomes aligned with organisational objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in day‑to‑day operational activities to support the implementation of community programmes and organisational initiatives.
  • Engage with individuals, community groups, and stakeholders to provide information, support, and referrals where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate client/service‑user records in line with organisational policies and data protection standards.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of workshops, training sessions, or community events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Assist with the preparing of reports, documentation, and updates for management, funders, and statutory bodies as required.
  • Support quality assurance processes and contribute to continuous service improvement.
  • Uphold safeguarding, GDPR, health & safety, and other compliance requirements.
  • Represent the organisation professionally at meetings, outreach activities, and community engagements.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work respectfully with diverse groups.
  • A community‑focused, person‑centred approach with empathy and professionalism.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
  • Ability to engage collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of community development principles (e.g., social inclusion, equality, empowerment).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Competence in using Microsoft 365 and digital systems, would be an advantage
  • Problem‑solving, flexibility, and a proactive attitude.
