INTRODUCTION:
New Path Youth and Family Services is an accredited children's mental health agency providing a range of compassionate, innovative and accessible services for children, youth and their families throughout Simcoe County. New Path respectfully acknowledges we are situated on the traditional land of the Anishinaabeg people which includes the Odawa, Ojibwe, and Pottawatomi Nations collectively known as the Three Fires Confederacy.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Senior Family Support Worker (FSW) is responsible for providing peer support and system navigation to families of children and youth with mental health concerns. Administrative leadership and direction are also provided to peers and programs in collaboration with the Supervisor.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ensure quality client outcomes and fidelity to the Family Services Program.
- Provides administrative leadership and direction for the Family Engagement Committees and Family Engagement Lead.
- Assist with the recruitment, orientation, training and support of the Family Engagement Committee and Family Engagement Lead.
- Ensure that service delivery adheres to professional standards recognized by the related Ministry, Accreditation, Quality Assurance and applicable professional disciplines.
- Provide direct peer to peer support and system navigation service to children, youth and their families.
- Assist families in developing strategies to communicate and work effectively with service providers (e.g. mental health, education, health, youth justice, child welfare), as well as developing tools, strategies, and resources to build family capacity within the non-clinical role.
- Develop, Implement, and Monitor individual family care plans.
- Co-facilitate peer support groups.
- Provide education groups.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and commitment to familiy-centred service and utilize a strengths-based approach.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or graduate certificate central to the practice of supporting/engaging children, youth and families.
- Minimum 2 years' lived experience as the primary caregiver of a child/youth who has accessed community-based or other child and youth mental services.
- Understanding of family engagement best practices.
- Experience navigating the child and youth mental health system and knowledge of community resources within Simcoe County is preferred.

- Commits to ongoing training to build the knowledge, awareness and skills, that contribute to creating a culturally safe environment for staff, clients and families.
- Competency and effective use of database and Microsoft Office systems.
- Confident, articulate and professional when communicating verbally and in writing.
- Strength based and engagement skills
- Case management, assessment and case coordination skills.
- French Language is an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Required to work flexibly to meet the needs of families, including evenings.
- This position is primarily performed in office/on-site to support the in-person meeting preferences of our clients and families. Some administrative tasks (non-client facing work) can be requested to be completed remotely (Work From Home).
- Willingness to travel to other agency offices and their community using personal vehicle. Must have valid driver's license with minimum G2.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
