This is an onsite role based at Nextiva’s Bengaluru office (Wilshire III by MFAR, 492, Hobli, RHB Colony, Mahadevapura, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560048). The Senior Staff Accountant will perform general accounting duties and various ad hoc requests while supporting the Finance department within the Shared Services Group. He/she will assist with payment processing, cash flow forecasting, accounts payable and monthly and annual close processes for various international entities, and help develop and maintain documentation as well as strong internal controls. What You'll Do:
- Participate in the month-end close process by preparing and recording journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), determining and recording accruals, reviewing financial statement trends, and preparing account reconciliations
- Working with different entity across different country like Spain, Canada and Including India
- Assist in the preparation of the weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts
- Liaise with external 3rd Party Accountants to ensure timely and accurate month-end accounting and reporting.
- Perform P&L and B/S variance analysis and investigate differences
- Retrieve approved invoices, select payment dates and submit listing of payments to be processed via International Operations on a weekly basis
- Review invoices selected for payment, validate against the approved budget, and release payments via our foreign bank portal on a weekly basis
- Perform cash variance analysis and investigate significant differences
- Maintain up-to-date documentation (bank statements, invoices etc..) to support the annual audits and corporate reporting requirements.
- Partner with the business to provide real time and accurate reports to support company leadership
- Participate in process development and continuous improvement projects
- Perform ad hoc projects as requested
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required
- 3-5 years accounting experience, required
- Proficient to expert Microsoft Excel skills, required
- Experience with accounting software, Oracle Fusion preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of US GAAP is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong attention to data integrity, accuracy, precision, and data gathering skills
- Demonstrated commitment to obtaining and delivering outstanding results
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while juggle multiple tasks and completing them in a timely manner
- Ability to take initiative, identify issues, act independently, communicate, and present recommendations to senior management
- Ability to adhere to strict standards and daily deadlines
- Strong organization, verbal, and communication skills with the ability to prioritize
- Willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments
- Ability to work extended hours, when required
- Curiosity about how AI can improve finance processes and decision-making
