The Northrop Grumman SkillBridge Program is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The program is an opportunity for service members preparing for civilian careers to gain valuable civilian work experience during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The SkillBridge Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.
Responsibilities

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman – SkillBridge Program (SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for SkillBridge. Through this program, the service-member will work on site with their host company, gaining experience in an entry to mid-level career path. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
- →Has served at least 180 days on active duty
- →Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
- →Will receive an honorable discharge
- →Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
- →Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
- →Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.
- →High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
- →Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- →Experience in use of calibrated hand tools, machining or metal component fabrication, Product Service troubleshooting which includes troubleshooting down to the component level.
- →Experience in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, performing test/calibration procedures and asking the right questions for diagnostics.
- →Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds in a wide variety of motions.
- →Able to communicate with Design Engineers within the organization, for any advice and questions regarding the various products we design and manufacture for which the candidate will be troubleshooting.
Requirements

- Knowledge of Microsoft office applications is a plus as is being both organized, attentive to detail and safety conscious.
- Experience in electronics and precision hand tools preferred.
- Experience with reading blueprints, specifications, and shop mathematics.
- Experience in working with measuring instruments and developing circuitry.
- Experience with machine controls, fabrication, automation and robotics.
- Physical demand involves standing or moving about the plant more than half the time.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent productivity suites currently in use by the company.

Primary Level Salary Range: $48,400.00 - $80,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
