Part Time Athletic Trainer

The Nightingale-Bamford School seeks a part-time athletic trainer, 25 hours per week, to provide athletic training services to student-athletes, with a primary focus on treating athletes (assessment, management, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning) in accordance with the NYS athletic training practice act.

This position reports to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education. This is a part-time, exempt, position with general hours of 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM on school days, covering afternoon treatment sessions, practices, and home games. Additional hours may be needed for select weekend or late events, arranged in coordination with the full-time athletic training staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to): 

• Providing daily assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning for injured student-athletes during scheduled hours
• Covering afternoon practices and home games, including setup and breakdown of water and ice coolers and team preparations
• Keeping coaches informed of health-related concerns for athletes on their rosters, such as allergies, asthma, or other health matters
• Supporting the concussion team as needed, including administering ImPACT baseline and post-injury testing for student-athletes in grades 5–12
• Adhering to and maintaining Emergency Action Plans and environmental hazard guidelines during all covered sessions
• Coordinating with the full-time athletic training staff to ensure continuity of care and handoff of treatment notes at shift change
• Assisting with maintaining and restocking training room supplies and med-kits during scheduled hours
• Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Athletics

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• NATABOC certified
• Registered Athletic Trainer with NYSED Office of Professions
• CPR/AED & First Aid certified
• BS in Athletic Training required
• NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist preferred
• Experience working with high school-aged athletes
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and other members of the School community
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing

SALARY

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, this position's annual salary is $60,000-$62,500.
