Job Summary:
The Global Head of Marketing, Clinical Business is accountable for growing market share by translating Clinical Business growth priorities into distinctive market positioning, focused customer segmentation, global and regional campaigns, successful product launches, and measurable commercial outcomes. The role leads global and regional Clinical Marketing and directs shared marketing services through a matrixed model.
The leader brings deep diagnostics market insight and works with Product Management, Sales, Medical/Clinical Affairs, Sales Operations, and R&D through clearly defined decision rights and deliverables.
Responsibilities:
Market Strategy, Positioning & Growth
- Define the global Clinical Marketing strategy against market share, growth, and revenue objectives.
- Establish a differentiated value proposition and positioning based on clinical, operational, and economic advantages.
- Own market segmentation and market mapping, including market size, growth, share shifts, priority segments, and country or regional opportunities.
- Maintain deep competitive and customer intelligence covering competitor portfolios, pricing trends, campaigns, win/loss insights, and changing customer needs; convert findings into clear actions.
Portfolio Marketing & Launch Excellence
- Own the commercial strategy for the on-market portfolio, including positioning, lifecycle campaigns, adoption, utilization, and competitive response.
- Lead global launch planning and market activation for new products, including launch readiness, messaging, evidence translation, channel plans, sales enablement, and post-launch performance tracking.
- Partner with Product Management at defined innovation tollgates. Product Management owns customer requirements, personas, roadmap, business case, and product requirements; Marketing owns market positioning, launch strategy, campaign development, and market activation.
- Demonstrate a strong record of successful global product launches in diagnostics, medical devices, or healthcare technology.
Demand Creation & Marketing Investment
- Build and execute integrated campaigns across digital, content, events, account-based marketing, and regional programs that create qualified demand and support share growth.
- Manage the Clinical Marketing budget and resource portfolio to maximize return on invested dollars; establish investment cases, performance thresholds, and reallocation decisions.
- Define campaign objectives and measures with Sales and Sales Operations, including target accounts, qualified opportunities, conversion, marketing contribution, and follow-up requirements.
- Use CRM, marketing automation, digital analytics, and customer journey data to improve targeting, engagement, and campaign effectiveness.
Global & Regional Commercial Activation
- Lead global and regional marketing teams to convert strategy into locally relevant programs while maintaining consistent positioning and standards.
- Equip Sales with market segmentation, competitive tools, customer-facing content, launch materials, and campaign-generated opportunities. Sales owns account execution, opportunity progression, and closure.
- Account for regional requirements, including clinical practice, reimbursement, regulation, access, and channel differences.
- Drive measurable regional marketing contribution to market share growth, customer acquisition, and portfolio adoption.
Marketing Leadership & Operating Model
- Set priorities, deliverables, and performance expectations for direct teams and shared services supporting Clinical Marketing, including MarCom, Digital/MarTech, and Events.
- Develop a high-performing global marketing organization with strong analytical, launch, digital, and commercial capabilities.
- Serve as a member of the Clinical leadership team and provide fact-based recommendations on markets, competitors, customers, portfolio priorities, and growth investments.
- Establish clear governance and handoffs across Marketing, Product Management, Sales, Sales Operations, Medical/Clinical Affairs, and R&D.
Success Measures
- Market share and growth rate in priority markets and segments.
- Launch performance versus approved objectives, including readiness, adoption, and time to revenue.
- On-market portfolio adoption, utilization, and competitive performance.
- Marketing return on investment and contribution to qualified pipeline and revenue.
- Campaign performance, including target-account engagement, qualified opportunity creation, and conversion.
- Quality and timeliness of market, competitor, pricing, and customer intelligence used in business decisions.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, marketing, science, or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive marketing experience in clinical diagnostics, medical devices, life sciences, or healthcare B2B, including senior global leadership responsibility.
- Demonstrated success growing market share and leading global product launches.
- Deep expertise in market segmentation, market sizing, competitive intelligence, portfolio marketing, digital marketing, and regional activation.
- Experience managing marketing budgets and making evidence-based investment and resource allocation decisions.
- Experience leading global teams and shared-service resources in a matrixed organization.
- Strong commercial judgment, financial acumen, executive presence, and ability to translate market evidence into clear priorities and action.
- Ability to travel globally as business needs require.

Work Location: Hybrid in Waltham MA, onsite Monday-Thursday
Targeted Salary Range: $170,000 to $215,000 a year
