Position: Respiratory Therapist RRT - Nights
Location: Edward Hospital - Naperville, IL
Full Time | 36 hours/week
Hours: Shifts will vary Monday - Friday from 7:00pm to 7:30am with every third weekend and rotating holidays, required.
Required Travel: Plainfield Emergency Center coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

→Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
→Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
→Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
→Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
→Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
→Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
→Provide patient and staff education

→Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required.
→License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status, required.
→State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required within 6 months of employment.
→Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required.
→ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 24 months of employment.
→Experience: Advanced knowledge of acid-base balance, blood gas analysis and interpretation, and cardiopulmonary physiology.
