We’re looking for an early HR professional who is service-minded, organized, and enjoys keeping HR operations running smoothly across two locations: NASA Stennis Space Center in Mississippi and NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This is a hands-on role focused on onboarding, employee support, personnel transactions, records management, orientation, reporting, and day-to-day HR coordination. Responsibilities
~1 min read- Process personnel transactions accurately and timely.
- Manage onboarding activities, including new hire paperwork and E-Verify.
- Facilitate New Hire Orientation.
- Maintain employee files, records, and data accuracy.
- Support benefits administration and respond to routine employee questions.
- Provide guidance on basic HR policies, procedures, leave administration, and workplace practices.
- Support recruiting activities, including job postings, interview coordination, and candidate communication.
- Prepare HR reports, presentations, and employee communications as needed.
- Partner with employees and managers to support day-to-day HR operations across both locations.
- Travel between locations as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum 2-3 years of HR experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience in onboarding, records management, talent acquisition, benefits, or HR operations.
- Working knowledge of basic HR practices and employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, and EEO princciples.
- Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable presenting to groups, facilitating orientations, and creating professional communications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass required background checks, drug testing, and maintain required site access/clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required to obtain and maintain site access.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Experience working in a union environment.
- Experience with HRIS systems, system implementations, or process improvements.
- Graphic design or visual communication skills (PowerPoint, flyers, training materials, etc.).
- HR certification (aPHR, SHRM-CP, or similar).
- Work is typically sedentary in nature and performed in an office setting.
