# Job Description – IT / Network Engineer with Zscaler Expertise
## Position Title
IT & Network Engineer – Zscaler Administrator
## Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled IT & Network Engineer with strong experience in enterprise networking, security operations, and Zscaler technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing secure network infrastructure and cloud security solutions across the organization.
This role requires hands-on expertise in network administration, troubleshooting, endpoint connectivity, firewall management, VPN technologies, and Zero Trust security architectures using Zscaler products such as ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX.

## Key Responsibilities
### Network & Infrastructure Management
1. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
2. Support routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and wireless technologies.
3. Monitor network performance, availability, and security.
4. Perform network capacity planning and optimization.
5. Manage firewall policies, access control lists, and secure remote connectivity.
### Zscaler Administration & Security
1. Implement and administer Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), and Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX).
2. Configure security policies, SSL inspection, traffic forwarding, and cloud application controls.
3. Troubleshoot user connectivity and application access issues within Zscaler environments.
4. Support Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) initiatives and secure access strategies.
5. Integrate Zscaler with identity providers such as Azure AD, Okta, or Active Directory.
6. Analyze security logs, alerts, and traffic behavior to identify risks or anomalies.
7. Support endpoint deployment and configuration of Zscaler Client Connector.
### IT Operations & Support
1. Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support for network and infrastructure incidents.
2. Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure teams.
3. Document network topology, configurations, SOPs, and troubleshooting procedures.
4. Participate in change management, patching, and maintenance activities.
5. Support incident response and root cause analysis activities.

## Required Skills & Qualifications
### Technical Skills
* Strong knowledge of:
* TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, NAT, VPNs
* Routing and switching technologies
* Firewalls and network security principles
* Zero Trust architecture concepts
* Proxy technologies and SSL inspection
* Hands-on experience with:
* Zscaler ZIA
* Zscaler ZPA
* Zscaler Client Connector
* ZDX (preferred)
* Experience with networking vendors such as:
* Cisco
* Palo Alto
* Fortinet
* Aruba
* Familiarity with:
* Active Directory
* Azure AD / Entra ID
* SSO and MFA solutions
* SIEM and monitoring tools
* Understanding of cloud networking concepts in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
### Soft Skills
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
* Ability to work independently and within global teams.
* Strong customer service orientation and sense of urgency.
* Fast learner with proactive problem-solving capabilities.

## Education & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field.
* 3+ years of experience in network administration or IT infrastructure support.
* 2+ years of hands-on Zscaler administration experience preferred.
* Relevant certifications are a plus:
* Zscaler Certified Administrator (ZCA)
* Zscaler Certified Professional (ZCP)
* CCNA / CCNP
* Network+
* Security+

## Preferred Qualifications
* Experience supporting hybrid or global enterprise environments.
* Exposure to SD-WAN and SASE architectures.
* Experience with automation or scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
* Knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.

## Work Environment
* Ability to support on-call rotations or after-hours maintenance when required.
* Hybrid or remote support experience preferred.
* Comfortable working in fast-paced enterprise environments.
