We are currently seeking a Storage & Data Protection Support Engineer to join our team in Hyderabad, Telangana (IN-TG), India (IN). Job Description – Storage & Data Protection Support Engineer (L1/L2) Experience: 5–8 Years Location: India / Global Delivery Centers Shift: 24x7 Rotational Support ________________________________________ Role Overview We are seeking a reliable Storage & Data Protection Support Engineer to provide first-level (L1/L2) support for enterprise storage, backup, SAN, NAS, and virtualization environments. The role involves handling incidents, performing recovery operations, monitoring infrastructure, and supporting day-to-day operations to ensure system availability and performance. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities 1\. Backup & Recovery Operations • Perform restore activities: o File-Level Restore (FLR), VM Restore, Bare Metal Recovery (BMR) o NBMR configuration and restore (NetBackup) • Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures • Configure and manage backup components: o NetBackup (FL/NBMR) o Acronis ________________________________________ 2\. Data Domain Monitoring • Monitor and respond to Data Domain alerts: o Connectivity loss o Temperature alerts o Hardware failures • Perform initial troubleshooting and escalate critical issues ________________________________________ 3\. Storage Administration • Support and configure storage systems: o Dell EMC XtremIO (XIO), PowerMax, PowerStore, Unity o VPLEX (Local & Metro) o Pure Storage and IBM storage • Perform storage provisioning, LUN allocation, and basic troubleshooting ________________________________________ 4\. SAN Administration • Perform SAN zoning and configuration using: o Brocade switches (SANnav) • Troubleshoot SAN-related connectivity and performance issues ________________________________________ 5\. NAS & Replication • Configure NAS storage: o Unity and Isilon (SMB/NFS protocols) • Support: o Replication configuration and failover scenarios ________________________________________ 6\. OS & Virtualization Support • Configure storage on: o Windows, Linux, and VMware ESXi • Provide VMware support: o Datastore provisioning and expansion o Storage vMotion o VM storage-related troubleshooting ________________________________________ 7\. Monitoring & Performance Management • Monitor infrastructure using tools like Grafana • Track performance across: o Storage arrays (XIO, PowerMax, PowerStore, Unity, VPLEX) o SAN (Brocade ports) o NAS (Isilon) o OS (Linux/Windows) • Perform SAN and storage array log collection ________________________________________ 8\. Incident & Vendor Management • Provide L1/L2 incident and request resolution • Raise and manage tickets with: o Dell EMC, Pure Storage, IBM • Coordinate: o Hardware replacements o Vendor escalations ________________________________________ Required Skills & Experience Mandatory Skills • 5–8 years of experience in Storage, Backup, and SAN Support • Hands-on experience with: o NetBackup & Acronis (backup and restore operations) o Brocade SAN zoning (SANnav) o Dell EMC storage platforms (XIO, PowerMax, Unity – basic/intermediate level) • Strong knowledge of: o Linux & Windows systems o VMware storage management ________________________________________ Preferred Skills • Exposure to: o Data Domain o VPLEX, Pure Storage, IBM storage o NAS (Unity, Isilon) • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana) • Basic scripting (Shell/Python) is an advantage ________________________________________ Certifications (Good to Have) • Dell EMC Storage Certifications • Veritas NetBackup Certification • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) • ITIL Foundation About NTT DATA NTT DATA is a $30 billion business and technology services leader, serving 75% of the Fortune Global 100.
