Responsibilities
~1 min readThe Cost Accountant will be responsible for performing advanced cost accounting analyses, comparing estimated costs to actual costs, preparing various budget reports and lead cost reduction initiatives to achieve Manufacturing targets using accounting and data management systems (ERP).
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Perform advanced cost accounting analysis including comparing estimated vs. actual costs, reviewing profit margins, and analyzing controllable/uncontrollable cost impacts
- →Maintain and manage cost data in ERP systems (Epicor) — including part cost maintenance, cost rolls, part updates, and database accuracy.
- →Prepare and present financial and manufacturing reports, such as monthly absorption reports, budget reports, and variance analyses to support data‑driven decisions.
- →Lead or co-lead inventory and cost control processes, including physical inventory coordination, variance analysis, and inventory adjustments.
- →Collaborate with Engineering and cross-functional teams to estimate product costs, monitor process changes, and evaluate cost impacts for existing and new products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MRP/ERP systems, such as, Epicor/SAP
- Thorough understanding of accounting procedures.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required.
- At least 5 years’ experience in cost accounting within manufacturing required, including time study experience.
