Oliver Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the team. This individual will play a critical role in developing accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates by analyzing customer requirements, materials, labor, equipment, production processes, and associated costs.

What You'll Do

As our Estimator, you will:

• Review incoming estimate requests, specifications, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.

• Contact appropriate internal stakeholders to obtain missing information or clarify project requirements.

• Prepare accurate estimates by analyzing project specifications, quantities, paper sizes, stock, equipment requirements, and outsourcing needs using Radius estimating software.

• Review preliminary estimates for accuracy, adjusting paper counts, make-ready time, press run time, and other cost variables as necessary.

• Evaluate pricing to ensure estimates are competitive while supporting profitability.

• Obtain pricing for nonstandard paper stocks or materials and recommend cost-effective alternatives when appropriate.

• Identify potential production challenges and communicate concerns to Sales and Manufacturing.

• Review new or complex projects with Manufacturing to ensure feasibility and accurate cost assumptions.

• Enter and maintain estimating information in the appropriate systems and summary documents.

• Generate quote documentation and provide completed estimates to the Sales Department.

• Provide special instructions and relevant project details to vendors and internal departments.

• Collaborate regularly with Sales, Customer Service, Design, Graphics, and Manufacturing to interpret customer requirements and support successful project execution.

• Maintain familiarity with commercial printing, folding carton packaging, and associated production processes.

What You'll Bring

You're a fit for the Estimator role if you have:

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in estimating, preferably within printing, packaging, manufacturing, or a related industry.

• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to learn new computer systems, including ERP and estimating platforms.

• Experience with cost analysis, pricing methodologies, and project management principles.

• Ability to analyze data, apply estimation formulas, and evaluate cost variables.

• Strong understanding of mathematical concepts, including area, circumference, volume, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

• Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to define problems, gather and analyze data, establish facts, and draw sound conclusions.

• Ability to interpret technical instructions, specifications, and diagrams and apply them to practical estimating situations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Radius estimating software or other estimating/ERP systems.

• Knowledge of commercial printing, folding cartons, packaging, and binding/finishing processes.

• Familiarity with inventory control, production planning, and scheduling procedures.

• A degree in Business, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Inventory Management, or a related discipline.
