ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Travel Analyst is administratively accountable to the Director of Travel and serves as a resource to all travel staff on data collection and analysis schemes.

This role will be responsible for auditing company ground transportation, managing special projects and occasionally perform duties of a Travel Agent. Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Provide the Director of Travel with data-driven decision-making recommendations and suggest process improvements.
  • Monitor travel bookings to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other Team Units of Omni, especially Crew Scheduling and Planning, to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Build presentations on cost-saving opportunities based on continuous analysis of department spending.
  • Book air, hotel, and ground travel as requested.
  • Assist the Director of Travel to assure overall quality, productivity, and policy/contract adherence.
  • Meet with travel vendors to negotiate contracts and maintain positive business relationships.
  • Communicate operation-impacting travel issues to the Director of Travel and develop effective solutions.
  • Work with the Director of Travel to troubleshoot travel system issues and manage error correction.
  • Support travel agents by answering questions and assisting when needed.
  • Update database systems accurately and maintain reports efficiently.
  • Perform special projects or other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to travel globally to meet with vendors.
  • Competency to maintain positive co-worker relationships – establishing, developing, and maintaining trust and loyalty over time and through changes.
  • Professional telephone skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when needed or scheduled.
  • Must pass a 10-year background check including an FAA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check.
  • Be worthy of commanding respect among peers and management officials.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • High school diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Possess general knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Capacity to become familiar with all aspects of the company’s organization, activities, and personnel.
  • Accomplished in part through in-house induction training, but best acquired through self-study and research.
  • Maintain competence through continued education and training and, if applicable, technical competency requirements

  • Ability to handle numerous activities at once and complete them in a timely manner.

  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully with significant detail.
  • Ability to make decisions which impact the department’s credibility, and services.
