MMU Assistant

 
Job Purpose:
To contribute to the growth, performance and profitability by safely assisting in general work at site, plant, and delivering quality product and services on the bench OTIF (and PLTS where applicable) service by conforming to set standards and procedures.
Job Description:
•
To assist in continually improving the quality of Hose Handling and assist in ensuring that proper hose handling procedures are followed on bench to avoid blast hole blockages, maintenance of safe operations and for customer satisfaction
•
To perform all duties according to Safe Working Practice and SHE requirements in the open pit, magazine and plant areas to ensure safety of operations and compliance
•
To ensure the quality of Gassing Solution Preparation is done to specifications
•
To ensure the safe and correct handling of Initiation Systems, Packaged and Bulk Explosives
•
To assist in making sure blast holes are charged to the correct stemming heights to avoid water pockets in the explosive column
•
To assist in priming and stemming of blast holes on bench to meet customer required specification.
•
To perform any other duties within his/her competencies as the exigencies of the job require to ensure efficient and continuous business operations
•
To always maintain superior customer and stakeholder relationships.
•
To maintain a high-quality culture by meeting customer and company requirements.

Qualification
•
Minimum of SSCE, NVTI, or equivalent
•
Advanced vocational training/qualification for a minimum of 1 year as a tradesman or in any field is desirable
•
Considerable communication skills (verbal and written)
•
Must be able to work for long hours in the open under changing climatic conditions
