Glen Echo Group seeks a Junior Associate to join our fast-growing, DC-based team. As one of the leading storytellers for the internet-enabled world, this role will combine passion, industry and policy knowledge and creative communications expertise to tell the stories of innovation and how technology can move the world forward as a force for good.

~1 min readAs a Junior Associate with the Glen Echo Group Public Affairs team, you will…
- Support the development and execution of advocacy campaigns and assist with client communication.
- Develop a foundational understanding of the policy landscape and client industries
- Build introductory relationships with media contacts in national, political, technology and trade outlets across various platforms (print, broadcast, online).
- Assist in drafting client communications materials such as press releases, fact sheets and web content.
- Monitor Congressional hearings and other advocacy events and provide comprehensive analysis for clients.
- Learn to use industry-standard tools for client service, including data and analytics, social media monitoring and industry research.
- Help implement processes for tracking and basic analysis of media coverage (print, broadcast and online).
- Support the team and help to plan client events.
- Be a leader and brand ambassador inside and outside Glen Echo Group.
- Internship or 1 year of other relevant professional experience in strategic communications from working in politics, government, or advocacy, or with a PR agency, media outlet or in-house communications team.
- A background and strong interest in public policy issues, particularly as they relate to the internet and technology.
- Excellent writing skills as well as a solid understanding of and experience working with digital platforms and tools.
- The ability to take initiative and work independently in a highly collaborative environment.
- A “team-first” approach with an ability to contribute to client teams and be seen as a trusted contributor.
- The ability to function at a high level on tight deadlines and with changing priorities and serve as a day-to-day resource.
- Attention to detail, enthusiasm, creativity and desire to work hard and contribute to a great team.
Salary range (commensurate with experience and skills): $50,000-$60,000 annually.
