The Director of Graduate Studies oversees three existing Graduate programs and is responsible for the development of other graduate offerings which advance the mission of the college. The Director designs and oversees graduate recruiting, working closely with Admissions and Communications teams to accomplish enrollment and marketing goals, designs and supports experiential residencies with graduate faculty, and supports student learning by overseeing graduate assistantships and program assessment. The Director recruits, coordinates, supports and facilitates graduate faculty and may take a role as an instructor depending on their expertise.

Responsibilities

Serve as the point-person in the development of new graduate programs

Assist the Marketing Department in developing promotional materials

→
Work closely with Enrollment Management in the recruitment and selection of students

→
Lead efforts to recruit and support graduate faculty

→
Work closely with faculty/staff to assist in developing course materials

→
Work closely with IT to deliver a user-friendly online platform with outstanding technical support

→
Coordinate logistics with Student Affairs and Facilities for on-campus learning intensives

→
Manage the on-campus learning intensives, assigning teaching and other duties to appropriate individuals

→
Assess student learning, with the goal of continual program improvement

→
Conduct graduate student orientation

→
Recruit and manage graduate assistants

→
Manage the budgets of the combined graduate programs

Summer duties receive additional compensation

Requirements

Five years teaching experience and Ph.D. (or equivalent terminal degree)

Strong leadership and administrative skills

Excellent oral and written communications

Expertise in project management and goal-setting

Experience in program planning, development, and implementation

Work is consistently performed in an indoor office setting with normal temperature ranges for the season.???

Frequent lifting and carrying of light to moderate office equipment (laptop or meeting materials) weight items.?

Prolonged sitting majority of the workday to complete responsibilities.??

Fine motor skills for work performed on laptop.

Good vision, including color vision if required, with corrective lenses as necessary. ??

Good hearing with assistive devices as necessary. ??
