Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, PAX is looking for a Manager of Embedded Systems (EE/HW) to lead the group responsible for design, engineering, debug, and validation of PAX hardware products.

This role is responsible for leading and developing modular embedded system architectures that are highly reusable and scalable across our product portfolio. This role will immediately manage a small group of Electrical and Hardware engineers. We need this role to be hands-on and highly technical - it’s a great opportunity to combine what you love about engineering with what you love about multiplying your skillset and coaching and managing others.

  • Lead and manage a team of hardware and electrical engineers in the design, development, and production of our cannabis hardware products.  Manage, grow, and coach direct reports on technical issues and interactions, ensuring a psychologically safe and trusting environment to enable high degrees of collaboration
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of engineering documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, and software source code
  • Drive performance validation of internally and externally developed products.  This includes developing internal tools/fixtures needed to validate performance and reliability of products, core technologies, and batteries
  • Drive best practices, rigorous design execution, to deliver innovative and high performing designs on schedule
  • Heavy collaboration with cross functional product and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate on embedded or PC-level software tools to control PCB test fixtures and development tools.
  • Create/execute verification and validation protocols.
  • Follow PAX Labs’ design control and documentation procedures
