About the Team: The Payments Technology team powers one of the most critical and high-scale businesses in the organization. From building resilient payment infrastructure to driving innovation across UPI, merchant ecosystems, risk systems, and financial platforms, the team operates at the intersection of technology, scale, and customer impact.

We are looking for a strategic and tech-savvy HR Business Partner (HRBP) who can partner closely with Engineering, Product, Data, and Business leaders to build high-performing teams and drive AI-enabled HR transformation.

About the Role: The HR Business Partner (HRBP) for the Payments Technology business will play a critical role in partnering with senior technology leaders to drive talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and workforce transformation across a fast-paced engineering ecosystem.

This role requires a strong blend of business partnering, data-driven decision-making, HR automation, and AI-enabled people analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing complex tech org structures, driving performance culture, enabling leadership effectiveness, and leveraging automation to build scalable HR solutions.

The role will support a large and dynamic employee base across Engineering, Product, Data Science, Information Security, Platform, and Payments Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Business Partnering -
* Partner with Engineering, Product, and Payments business leaders to align people strategy with business priorities.
* Drive org design, workforce planning, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership capability initiatives.
* Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on team effectiveness, culture, and organizational health.

Talent Management -
* Partner with leaders to build and retain high-performing technology teams.
* Drive retention strategies for critical and niche tech talent.
* Support career architecture, internal mobility, and growth frameworks for engineering and product teams.
* Facilitate talent discussions for high-potential and high-impact employees.

HR Analytics, AI & Automation -
* Build data-driven HR dashboards for attrition, productivity, engagement, span analysis, diversity, hiring, and performance metrics.
* Leverage AI and predictive analytics to identify talent risks, burnout trends, retention concerns, and workforce insights.
* Drive automation of HR workflows, reporting, governance trackers, and employee lifecycle processes.
* Implement scalable HR tech solutions using tools such as Power BI, Excel Automation, Google Workspace, ChatGPT, Copilot, HRIS platforms, and workflow automation tools.

Performance & Organizational Effectiveness -
* Drive performance management cycles, calibrations, promotion discussions, and developmental interventions.
* Partner with leadership to strengthen performance culture and accountability.
* Use analytics and feedback insights to improve manager effectiveness and team productivity.

Employee Engagement & Culture -
* Design and execute targeted engagement initiatives for technology teams in a high-growth environment.
* Drive interventions focused on employee experience, wellbeing, collaboration, and inclusion.
* Build strong internal communities across engineering and product organizations using platforms like Slack, Discord, and Teams.

Change Management & Transformation -
* Lead HR transformation and change management initiatives during scaling, restructuring, and business evolution.
* Drive adoption of new people processes, organizational changes, and technology-enabled HR initiatives.
* Support leaders through ambiguity, rapid growth, and evolving business priorities.

HR Governance & Employee Relations -
* Ensure strong governance across employee lifecycle processes, HR compliance, and policy implementation.
* Manage sensitive employee relations matters, grievance handling, and workplace investigations with high confidentiality and maturity.
* Collaborate with HR COEs, TA, HR Ops, Finance, and business teams to drive operational excellence.

Requirements:
* MBA in Human Resources or equivalent degree.
* 5+ years of experience as an HRBP supporting Technology, Product, Engineering, or Digital businesses.
* Strong understanding of organization structures and engineering talent ecosystems.
* Proven experience in stakeholder management, performance management, retention, and org transformation.
* Strong analytical mindset with hands-on experience in HR analytics and automation.

Experience with:
* Power BI / Tableau
* Advanced Excel & Google Sheets Automation
* HRIS platforms and reporting tools
* AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, or similar productivity platforms
* Canva, Figma, PowerPoint for leadership storytelling and communication

* Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and high-growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience implementing AI and automation use cases within HR.
* Exposure to workforce analytics, predictive modeling, and HR tech transformation initiatives.
* Understanding of fintech, payments, or digital commerce ecosystems.
* Experience supporting large-scale engineering or product organizations.
