Job Summary:

 

Our HR & Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting benefits, compensation, HRIS, recruiting and payroll administration.  This detail-oriented role combines technical experience with administrative efficiency and is key to our success as we continue to be an employer of choice. The HR & Payroll Specialist acts as a primary liaison between HR and other departments, ensures regulatory compliance, and takes ownership of HR-related projects. This role requires the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in handling sensitive employee matters and developing solutions to operational challenges.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Payroll Administration

  • Manage payroll administration for the company, including processing bi-weekly non-exempt and exempt payroll, tax profile setup and maintenance, and general payroll and tax recordkeeping.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Safeguard compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.
  • Produce scheduled and ad-hoc reports pertaining to payroll in collaboration with Finance.
  • Follow up with employees who are missing timecard and hour information.
  • Complete biweekly deduction files for benefit vendors.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee questions

 

HRIS

  • Serves as main point of contact for HR-related reports
  •  Manages HR Analytics and reporting dashboards.
  • Serve as the systems and process expert for implementations, upgrades, and configuration changes to align with business needs.
  • Oversees the testing of the system for upgrades, data conversation, and implementation of interfaces with other systems.
  • Serves as the main point of contact between the Human Resources Department, IT, and the vendor for all HR Technology system issues



Administrative Support

  • Support the hiring process by scheduling all interviews and maintaining communication with candidates.
  • Performs administrative duties related to onboarding such as I-9, E-Verify, background checks, and more.
  • Assist with employee offboarding process.
  • Maintain updated employee files, ensure organization of the HR drive, and ensure that documents are easily accessed.
  • Conduct annual employee file and I-9 audits.
  • Process address and other employee data changes across systems in a timely manner.
  • Administer employment verification requests.
  • Work with Accounting to process all monthly HR-related expenses.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Multi-state payroll processing and administration
  • A detail-oriented mindset with a passion for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with HR regulations.

 Education and Experience:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Payroll Administration.
  • Prior experience using BambooHR preferred

 

Compensation:

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $75,000– 85,000 USD per year. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
