The Role
This global role is the first of its kind at GSCF. The Compensation Business Partner is responsible for building and leading GSCF’s entire Compensation function, ensuring compliance with the EU Pay Directive, creating transparent policies and salary structures, and managing all compensation cycles and processes.
A perfect fit is someone who has the ability to build the Compensation function, teach, and operate alone and with others. They need to be clear in communications: write policies, train, think two steps ahead, clearly articulate compensation to the business. They must be willing to roll up their sleeves and complete all aspects of all the Compensation function. This role reports to the SVP, HR.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Ensure compliance with the EU Directive with local countries, and other reporting as required by law. Completing data set up for inquiries received.
- Own and manage components of the firm’s compensation processes, including annual review and bonus reviews, mid-year and off-cycle adjustments, and compensation analyses.
- Create policies and procedures in line with EU Directive and Senior Leadership to build transparency into the all-around Compensation function.
- Assist in the design, documentation, and communication of compensation procedures, incorporating best practices for automation and process efficiency where possible.
- Create architecture and grades on salary bands and comp ratios.
- Partner closely with HR Advisory, HR Service Delivery and HR Specialists and business leadership to provide compensation consultation, evaluate market competitiveness, and develop pay recommendations.
- Lead market benchmarking by participating in compensation surveys, managing vendor relationships, and analyzing results to inform pay strategies.
- Conduct market pricing and job evaluations to ensure internal equity and alignment with external benchmarks.
- Secretary to the Compensation Committee, creating and running the agenda with senior leaders (Directors of the Committee).
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align compensation processes with budgeting, reporting, and system capabilities.
- Lead training and work with L&D and HR Advisory for managers and executives on compensation-related topics.
- Monitor compensation trends, internal metrics, provide insights, and recommend adjustments to maintain competitiveness and consistency across the firm’s offices.
- Uphold policies and procedures to ensure fairness and equality and completes checks and balances.
- Work with HR Service Delivery to draft and maintain compensation documentation, including promotion and salary change memos, and ensure accurate and timely processing of BambooHR transactions using data-driven checks and automated workflows where feasible.
- Review and advise on compensation for job postings, joiners, and movers
- Partner with HR Analytics to develop and enhance compensation tools, dashboards, and visualizations to support data-driven decision making and strengthen firmwide reporting. Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to streamline compensation workflows, strengthen data integrity, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Experience: 6+ yrs compensation related
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to connect with individuals at all levels including Senior Leadership
- Proficient in English
- Ability to present to wider audiences
- A team player
- Deep analytical knowledge and skills
- Global knowledge is a plus, we have employees in APAC, EMEA, and AMERs
