We are seeking highly motivated and skilled Senior Full Stack .NET Developer to contribute to the success across the Department of Parliamentary Services. The Application Delivery and Operations section is responsible for the development and support of business systems that are critical to the functioning of Parliament.

You will have extensive experience in software development, including the ability to develop enterprise-grade software using a variety of technologies, including but not limited to Microsoft .NET, React JS and Azure Cloud hosting both in an individual capacity and as part of a larger team of software developers. You will have a proven track record of applying expertise to guide software development process improvements, support stakeholders and decision makers, and ensure high quality, fit for purpose solutions are implemented.

A significant background in developing software outputs for complex programs including knowledge of microservices, containers, app services, (Git) version control and DevSecOps practices is necessary.

Responsibilities

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is seeking the services of a highly skilled Software Engineer with significant experience leading business analysis activities.

The successful candidate will work with business and technical stakeholders to implement software for several initiatives underway within Australian Parliament House (APH). To be successful in this role candidates will need to have:

  • A minimum of 7+ years' experience as a Software developer, throughout the full lifecycle of a project from initiation through to sustainment.
  • Have experience working with both Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches.
  • Have experience working in software development teams and a working knowledge of System Development Lifecycles (SDLC).
  • Possess strong stakeholder management, time management, active listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess excellent communication, workshop facilitation and writing skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Experience in transformational projects at the enterprise level would be advantageous.

To deliver on this program of work, the Software Developer will be required to:

  • Lead elements of software development to design, implement and test software components for a range of applications used across the Parliamentary Departments.
  • Be heavily involved in providing technical advice and working through technical details with stakeholders in Cyber security, infrastructure and architecture disciplines.
  • Use modern software development concepts, practices and tools to contribute to the Parliament's software suite in line with established patterns and procedures.
  • Manage DevOps product backlog work and prioritise development tasks as appropriate to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other sections across the Information Services Division to develop software solutions that meet cyber security, architectural and infrastructure requirements of the Parliament.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the delivery team, architects and business analysts to produce high-quality software artifacts.
  • Undertake other related activities to support successful delivery as required.
  • Use modern DevOps processes to ensure consistency of software artifacts and maintain continuity of software development processes and support knowledge across the organisation.
  • Fluency with Microsoft .NET C#
  • Fluency with React JS and Typescript
  • Fluency with HTML and CSS
  • Fluency with Azure DevOps
  • Fluency with Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code
  • Experience with T-SQL
  • Experience with Azure App Services
  • Experience with Azure Storage, Key Vault and other PaaS services
  • Experience with other Typescript and Javascript-based frameworks
  • Awareness and/or Experience of Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint.
  • Awareness of Containerisation and Kubernetes
